Restore the legend.
Reveal what's next.
Two blasting routes under one roof. Vapor blasting lifts decades of rust, carbon, and grime while leaving the base metal intact. Sandblasting cuts a clean, toothed profile when a part is headed for paint or powder coat. Bring us the part — we'll pick the right route.
Vapor Blasting
- Glass bead or ceramic media suspended in a water stream
- Non-destructive — no pitting, no warping, no lost detail
- Casting marks, stampings, and tolerances stay intact
- Finish: soft satin, as-cast, factory-correct
Sandblasting
- Dry abrasive that cuts and bites into the surface
- Strips heavy rust, scale, and stubborn old coatings
- Leaves a mechanical tooth for coatings to lock onto
- Finish: uniform matte with a profiled texture
Where patina meets precision.
Legendary Sights Finishes was built on a simple belief: the parts that made a machine legendary deserve to look that way again. Our vapor blasting process carries fine glass bead media in a water stream, lifting rust, carbon, oxidation, and old coatings without eating into the base metal underneath.
But one process doesn't fit every job — so we run both. If a part is headed for paint or powder coat, vapor blasting isn't the right call: it leaves a surface that's too smooth for a coating to grip. That's sandblasting's job. Dry abrasive cuts a proper mechanical profile, and coatings bite into it and stay. We tell you honestly which route your part needs.
Non-Destructive
Base metal stays untouched — no pitting, no warping.
Right Process, Right Part
Vapor or sand — chosen for your finish goal, not convenience.
Fast Turnaround
Most single parts finished within 3–5 business days.
Since Day One
Automotive-obsessed, detail-first, no shortcuts taken.
Precision finishing for every part.
From full engine teardowns to a single carburetor, every job gets the same white-glove treatment — vapor blasted, sandblasted, or both, depending on where the part is headed next.
Engine Components
Cylinder heads, blocks, valve covers, intakes — carbon and oil baked in for decades, gone in one pass.
Motorcycle & Powersports
Engine cases, forks, hubs, triple trees — restored to the finish they left the factory with.
Vapor Blasting
Wet media suspension for non-destructive cleaning — a soft satin, as-cast finish with every casting mark intact.
Small Parts & Trim
Calipers, carbs, brackets, badges — every small piece of the puzzle finished to match.
Sandblasting & Coating Prep
Dry abrasive that strips heavy rust and scale and cuts a real mechanical tooth — the right prep for paint or powder coat adhesion.
Carbon & Rust Removal
Deep-baked carbon and surface rust lifted clean, without abrasive damage underneath.
From corroded to legendary in 5 steps.
A controlled, repeatable process — built for consistency on every single part.
Inspect & Assess
We evaluate the part's material, coating history, and finish goal.
Disassemble & Mask
Bearings, seals, and threads are protected or removed before blasting.
Blast: Vapor or Sand
Wet media for non-destructive cleaning, or dry abrasive when the part needs a coating profile.
Detail & Passivate
Parts are dried, detailed, and treated to resist flash rust.
Finish & Deliver
Vapor blasted parts go straight back onto your build. Sandblasted parts leave coating-ready.
Verified feedback from real builds.
“Sent them a rusted-solid cylinder head I thought was scrap. Got back bare aluminum that looked brand new. Every fin, every casting mark — untouched. Unreal turnaround too.”
“My valve covers had 20 years of baked carbon on them. They came back looking like billet. Way better than the tumbler shop I used before — zero pitting.”
“He told me straight up that vapor blasting was the wrong call for parts I was having powder coated, and sandblasted them instead. Coater said it was some of the cleanest prep he'd ever sprayed over.”
“Communication was excellent the whole way through, sent progress photos before I even asked. The carb came back looking like a museum piece.”
